Interesting how little movement there is toward the top of this list, with the odd shift a few places but few of the top 30 or 40 courses rising or falling any significant distance. The bottom half of the list is much more volatile, and is where each of this year’s newcomers feature. These include the new Red and Blue courses at Streamsong Resort (52 & 62) along with older courses who did not feature on the 2011 list, such as Forest Dunes (72), Aronimink (82), Fox Chapel (88), Country Club of Fairfield (95), Erin Hills (96), Crooked Stick (100) and the excellent Eastward Ho! (78). Of the established courses, the biggest mover was the much improved California Golf Club of San Francisco (58 from 97), which is sure to be a contender for the World list in 2015. Heading in the other direction were championship tests at Chambers Bay (64 from 49), Hazeltine National (93 from 72) and Torrey Pines (South) (98 from 79).
